I've had two Escapes with the 2.5 liter engine with zero engine issues and they really are quite rare. This is a very reliable engine.If I had not taken this action, the engine overheating could have posed a safety risk. Upon receiving repairs at a Ford dealer, I later learned that this engine overheating is a known issue by Ford. It is caused by coolant intrusion to the engine. Two customer satisfaction programs have been issued for this problem: 19B37, 21N12.Update on my Fusion 1.5l Eco with 87K miles - well after 5 full weeks at the dealer, I finally got the news that my engine will be replaced under my Ford ESP.
